Privacy Policy

Sacred Closure is a private space for emotional expression and reflection. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information about you when you access or use the Sacred Closure mobile application.

Sacred Closure is not a healthcare provider, therapist, crisis service, or medical provider. Information shared within the app is not used to provide medical, psychological, or mental health treatment.

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this policy.

Collection of Information

Information You Provide to Us

We collect information when you register for an account, complete onboarding, make a purchase, or otherwise interact with us. The information you provide may include:

• Account details: your email address and authentication credentials.
• Profile information: your display name and pronoun preference, provided during onboarding.
• Mood and body information: mood scores you provide before and after sessions, and body area responses from somatic check-ins.
• Commitments: any commitments you choose to record at the end of a session.
• Feedback: any feedback or support requests you submit to us.

Information We Collect When You Use the App

• Session information: the mode you use, the session status, and related metadata. This does not include the content of your conversations.
• Subscription and purchase information: when you make a purchase, payment is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive confirmation of your purchase status and subscription tier but do not have access to your payment card details or billing address.
• Usage information: features you access, session frequency, and other aggregated and non-identifiable usage data.
• Device information: your device type, operating system version, and app version.

Information We Generate from Your Sessions

• Session insights: AI-generated summaries, identified patterns, journal reflections, and breakthrough moments. These are structured fields derived from your session, not raw conversation messages.

These insights are stored to support your Journey over time and are accessible only to your account.

Conversation Content and Session Recovery

The conversation content from Ghost, Ex, Grief, Venting, and Letter modes is not intentionally stored on our servers after the session ends. If you leave the app mid-session without completing or burning the session, a temporary recovery copy of your conversation may be retained to allow you to resume where you left off. When you complete or release (burn) the session, that temporary recovery copy is removed from our active systems.

Pattern sessions saved by Sacred Members are stored until you choose to delete them.

Use of Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your account.
• Provide session responses and generate insights.
• Allow you to track your emotional journey over time.
• Process purchases and manage your subscription.
• Send transactional emails such as account confirmation, password reset, and welcome messages.
• Understand how the app is used, in aggregated and non-identifiable form, to improve reliability and develop new features.

We do not use conversation content to train, fine-tune, or improve AI models. We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising purposes.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: we share information with third-party providers who help us operate the app, including database hosting, authentication, AI processing, email delivery, and purchase management.
• Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, court order, subpoena, or governmental request.
• Business transfers: if Sacred Closure or 33 Catalyst Ventures is acquired, merged, or transferred, user information may transfer as part of that transaction.

Third-Party Services

To provide and improve our services, we rely on carefully selected third-party service providers who may process personal data on our behalf. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and comply with applicable data protection regulations.

Data Retention

We retain account information and session records for as long as your account remains active or as necessary to provide the services described in this policy. Saved Pattern sessions remain available until you delete them. Temporary recovery copies of unfinished sessions are retained only as long as necessary to allow you to resume.

When your account is deleted, associated data is removed from our active systems and scheduled for removal from backups in accordance with our retention practices.

Data Storage and Security

Your account information, session metadata, and insights are stored using Supabase, a secure cloud database provider. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest using AES-256 encryption. Access to your data is restricted through row-level security policies that ensure each user can only access their own records. Authentication credentials are stored securely on your device using encrypted storage.

Our infrastructure is hosted in a secure cloud environment with access controls and monitoring in place. We limit access to personal data to only those personnel and systems that require it to provide the service.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights and Choices

• Access: you can view your account information and session history within the app.
• Deletion: you can delete individual sessions, insights, and your entire account at any time. Account deletion permanently removes all associated data.
• Correction: you can update your display name and pronoun at any time from your Profile.
• Portability: contact us at privacy@sacredclosure.com if you would like a copy of your data.

Additional Regional Rights

California (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, used, and shared; the right to delete personal information; the right to correct inaccurate personal information; and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. Sacred Closure does not sell personal information. Contact us at privacy@sacredclosure.com to exercise your rights.

Other U.S. States

If you reside in Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, or other states with comprehensive privacy laws, you may have similar rights. Contact us at privacy@sacredclosure.com.

Canada (PIPEDA)

European Union, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR)

Children

Sacred Closure is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at privacy@sacredclosure.com.
